Communiqué du 11/05/2009The third stage of the French Inline Cup was raced this week-end in Gournay-en-Bray, North of Paris, under beautiful skies, but on a hard circuit. More than 100 skaters took the start of the different competitions, for 30 or 40kms. Even if the amount of athletes was low on the starting line, the level was international, with people coming from South America or North of Europe. And the winners prooved they were very strong: Sara Back (Denmark) taking the win in the women’s division, and Yann Guyader in the men’s one!
Women’s race
The women’s marathon was mainly controlled by the team of Bont Wheels: Argentina Tamara Llorens (second of the overall before the start), was looking on the leading of the FIC, definitivly! She was supported by her South American team mates Alexandra Vivas (Venezuela) and Kelly Martinez (Colombia). They imposed high speed on the pace, but couldn’t prevent from a bunch sprint against French Laetitia Le Bihan (RPM Poli), Anne-Sophie Petitprez (BESAC), or Sara Back. This last one was able to pass the Bont train on the left side of the road, and to capture her first win in the FIC in 1:21.
Men’s race
The two first laps of the race went on quite slowly, with a big pack of about 45 skaters of the wide roads of Gournay. After 3kms of warming, there were few attacks from the teams of F2P Rhône-Alpes and Levallois. But the team mates of Powerslide were watching carefully. A strong acceleration of Julien Levrard (LSC) obliged Yann Guyader (Powerslide Matter) to follow. Quite quickly, Ewen Fernandez (Powerslide/Ligne Droite) and Guillermo Trinarolli (Bont Wheels) were chasing. A group of four was ahead, and a pack of about 15 was following. Guyader and Fernandez were accelerated each after the other, in order to maintain the gap: they succeeded. But The former winner of the FIC was strong enough to go again, alone, and to insure the victory – in 1:07. Fernandez took the silver 30 seconds after, followed by Trinarolli and Levrard.
